Long-time NFL tight end Marcedes Lewis is back for yet another NFL season.
The former All-Pro is entering his 19th career season, which is the most among tight ends in NFL history.
Lewis is re-signing with the Chicago Bears after he spent the 2023 season with them, as well.
In terms of games played, Lewis can set the NFL record among tight ends this season too.
11-time Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten holds the NFL record among tight ends for most games played (271).
Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Tony Gonzalez is second at 270.
Lewis, who is currently sitting at 268, will have the opportunity to set the record in Week 4 of this season, as NFL writer Brandon Loree shared.

Lewis was drafted way back in 2006 by the Jacksonville Jaguars out of UCLA in the first round.
He would go on to play 12 years there before joining Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in 2018.
After five years there, he would sign with the Bears in 2023.
Now 40 years of age, the former Pro-Bowler is set to make history.
At his age and for the last few years, he has been more of a blocking tight end than anything else.
In fact, the last time he recorded over 500 yards receiving was in 2012 with the Jaguars.
He will once again be a leader in the locker room for the younger players.
With Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze entering the Windy City as exciting, young rookies on offense, it will be up to veterans such as Lewis and others to show them how to be true pros.
