The Minnesota Vikings have a new quarterback, and most of the talk has been centered around their offense.
That makes sense, as they just gave Justin Jefferson the largest contract extension for a non-quarterback in NFL history.
Nonetheless, there has been an addition to the other side of the field that has reportedly made big strides in the offseason.
According to a report by Vikings insider Alec Lewis, veteran CB Shaq Griffin has been quite impressive thus far (via The Purple Persuasion).
Of the new additions this offseason, #Vikings CB Shaq Griffin stood out in minicamp, per @Alec_Lewis.
Lewis also noted that WR Justin Jefferson and Griffin jawed with each other after an incompletion 🔥

Lewis adds that Griffin was talking smack to Jefferson after an incompletion, adding that he was oozing with confidence and that both parties actually embraced the friendly competition.
The 28-year-old DB is coming off an up-and-down season.
He played for the Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers last season, making ten appearances for DeMeco Ryans’ team (six starts) and logging 33 tackles with four tackles for a loss.
He was later claimed by the Carolina Panthers off waivers, making three appearances for them (one start) and logging six tackles and a pass defensed.
Griffin entered the league as a third-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2017, and he spent the first four seasons of his career playing for Pete Carroll.
There, he also played with his twin brother Shaquem, who managed to make it to the league despite having his left hand amputated.
Now, Griffin will look to give some veteran leadership to Kevin O’Connell’s team, a squad that will look to prove the doubters wrong and make the playoffs in 2024.
