The New York Jets might have a complicated situation on their hands right now.
They traded for one of the best pass rushers in the game, but he’s nowhere to be found during OTAs.
Of course, this portion of the offseason program is voluntary, but still, not having Haason Reddick in attendance to mesh with his new teammates could be a bit of a concern.
Still, HC Robert Saleh won’t lose any sleep over it.
When asked about it, the head coach simply claimed that they knew for a fact that Reddick was putting in a lot of hard work on his own to have a solid season in 2024 (via Jets Videos).
Robert Saleh was asked about Haason Reddick’s absence from Jets OTAs and says that Reddick should be in attendance for mandatory minicamp next week:

Reddick is set to play on the final year of his contract, so the speculation around this subject is that he’s trying to put some pressure on the Jets to sign him to an extension.
He was traded there from the Philadelphia Eagles, and none of the money he’s about to make is guaranteed, so, technically, the Jets could just choose to cut him, and that’s it.
That’s highly unlikely, though, as he’s one of the most productive pass rushers in the game.
The Jets already had an elite defensive front without him, but with their Super Bowl aspirations, it only made sense that they looked to get even more dominant on that side of the field.
Hopefully, they’ll be able to work past this issue before it’s too late and it becomes a distraction in the locker room.
