For years, NBA players and fans have debated about the Boston Celtics and their star duo.

Some believe Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum can’t coexist or win together at the highest level because they’re very similar, while others think you have to do whatever it takes to keep your two young stars together.

Of course, it’s also human nature to try and compare one player with the other, which also means people try to establish who the better player is.

Most people agree that the Celtics are Tatum’s team and that he’s the better of the two, and that includes Gilbert Arenas.

In the latest edition of his show, the former NBA guard claimed that Brown only looked like the team’s No. 1 option in the playoffs because Tatum was being doubled-team on every possession, and not because he was actually their No. 1 option.

Per Arenas, Brown cannot be considered the team’s primary option because he’s not even getting doubled.

That makes sense to a degree.

It’s a fact that teams try and focus more on Tatum, but it’s also a fact that Tatum’s character has been a subject of debate more often than not, and Brown has had to come and bail him out in the playoffs multiple times.

Also, Brown would’ve been a No. 1 option on most teams in the league, he just happens to play alongside a player who’s slightly better than him.

Fortunately for them and the Celtics, that has never been an issue between them, at least on the court.
