The Dallas Mavericks overcame the odds as a fifth seed as they will be representing the Western Conference in the 2024 NBA Finals.

The Mavericks’ road was littered with tough opponents as they had to go through the Los Angeles Clippers. Denver Nuggets, and Minnesota Timberwolves to earn their ticket to the Finals.

However, Dallas will face off against the Boston Celtics, who have been considered the overwhelming favorites since the beginning of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Boston was one of the most dominant teams on both ends of the floor and present the most difficult challenge for Dallas in the postseason.

Luka Doncic has been otherworldly despite playing through some nagging injuries, though he’s gotten plenty of help from his co-star Kyrie Irving.

Irving will be competing for his second championship ring and analyst Emmanuel Acho believes if the Mavericks win then the star guard will go down as the best second option in league history, via “Speak.”

“I think if Kyrie Irving can win another title, I think he can become the greatest Robin of all-time,” Acho said.

Irving won his first title as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers playing alongside LeBron James and now has the chance to achieve the same feat next to Doncic.

Irving has been on a tear during the playoffs as he’s been at the heart of several of the Mavericks’ wins, hitting tough and contested shots to get them over the finish line.
