Whenever a star player decides to hold out and miss OTAs in an effort to earn a new contract, it is an interesting time.
That is going on in Dallas with stars CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons.
Head coach Mike McCarthy was recently asked by reporters about Parsons’ absence specifically and how significant it is.
“I think any time you have a chance to be together, it’s an opportunity to improve,” McCarthy stated, per Around The NFL.
He also mentioned that although Parsons has stayed in good shape, missing the first install of new defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer’s system is a missed opportunity.
That is an interesting take and one that Parsons could feel slighted by if he hears it.

With the loss of defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who became the head coach of the Washington Commanders earlier this offseason, this Cowboys team is going to need its most talented players ready to go this year.
All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore has not been re-signed by the team and is currently a free agent.
Former Pro Bowl linebacker Leighton Vander Esch retired earlier this offseason due to a neck injury.
Other defensive losses include edge-rusher Dante Fowler Jr. and veteran defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins.
This team is going to have to be great if they want to be real threats in the NFC.
Zimmer helped Dallas win the Super Bowl in 1995 as a defensive coach down there and is looking to do the same again.
Parsons is a three-time All-Pro and has recorded 13+ sacks in each of the last three years.
He should be fairly compensated for his work, and that compensation should come soon enough.
