The Minnesota Timberwolves made it to the Western Conference Finals as a team, so it only made sense that they rallied together in Game 4.

That hadn’t been the case thus far.

Anthony Edwards had been a one-man show for the most part, and he had run out of gas late in games in the first three contests.

That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to see his team win when Karl-Anthony Towns finally had a good game.

Considering that, Edwards gave his fellow No. 1 pick his flowers, stating that he was the reason why they won and praising him for his timely shot-making (via NBA).

Towns struggled mightily and barely even looked at the rim in the first half, and it seemed like he was going to go out badly again for the fourth consecutive time.

He picked up things in the second half and started knocking down shots, finally shaking off his woes from beyond the arc and remembering that he had a significant height and size advantage over PJ Washington, his primary defender.

Towns is much better when he goes to the block and posts up smaller players, especially when his shot isn’t falling.

He had been a defensive liability for the entire series, so there was no point in keeping him in there if he was shooting the ball poorly as well.

Chris Finch even benched him for the final minutes of Game 2, and the Timberwolves were one epic game-winning shot from taking that one.

Hopefully, this will be the catalyst he needs to finally live up to the task and give his co-star a hand in the following game or games.
