Once again, the Pittsburgh Steelers face some questions about their quarterback.
However, unlike last season, when people doubted who would be the least-worst option, this time, they actually have a good problem on their hands, as they have two guys who could actually make a case to start.
With that in mind, NFL analyst James Palmer shared a bit of a bold prediction about Justin Fields.
Talking to Kay Adams on her “Up & Adams” show, Palmer claimed that there was a good chance that we would see both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields take the field at some point next season.
Will Justin Fields beat out Russell Wilson to be the #Steelers Week 1 starter?? 🤔🔊@JamesPalmerTV @heykayadams pic.twitter.com/fXzdWJIQS8

He thinks that Fields has a legitimate chance to win the starting job, and while he believes it could be a bit of an uphill battle to do so by Week 1, it might happen eventually.
Palmer claimed that new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith has more power and a bigger input than former guys in his position, and he might push head coach Mike Tomlin to make a QB change if he feels like Fields is a better fit for his offense or can put them in a better position to succeed.
Of course, this is a complicated situation, as Wilson voluntarily signed there to be the starter and he was promised that position, whereas Fields was traded for, so it’s not like he had a say there.
Hopefully, this will bring the best out of both players, and some healthy competition will only make them prove the doubters wrong.
