This year’s NBA Draft isn’t exactly one of the more exciting ones in recent memory, and thus teams shouldn’t necessarily expect to get a player who will change their fortunes there.
On the other hand, there is the potential for this offseason to be an active one when it comes to star and near-star players being traded.
Per Evan Sidery, three teams with top-10 picks — the Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, and Utah Jazz — are “open for business” when it comes to trading their picks.
Three teams selecting in the top-10 have indicated they’re open for business on potentially trading their draft pick:

The Rockets are thought to be a team on the rise, and although they didn’t make the play-in tournament this year, they did threaten to snag a spot there when they went on an 11-game winning streak in March.
They’re looking for a star to pair with center Alperen Sengun, who is looking like a star in the making, and doing so could give them a real shot at making the playoffs in 2025.
Memphis suffered through a lost season that saw them win only 27 games after injuries to multiple key players, including star guard Ja Morant.
But they have plenty of talent on their roster, and perhaps one more veteran difference-maker would make them legitimate contenders next season.
The Jazz are firmly in rebuilding mode, and they need to decide whether to tank next season or try to become competitive right away after going 31-51 this season.
There have been rumors that they’re open to trading Lauri Markkanen, their best player, but perhaps that plan could change if their No. 10 pick yields an impact player.
