After falling to the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 at the Target Center, with superstar guard Luka Doncic hitting an incredible game-winning three-pointer over Rudy Gobert, the Minnesota Timberwolves have their backs against the wall heading into Game 3 on the road at American Airlines Center.

Despite having an elite defense that took down the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in the second round of the NBA playoffs, Minnesota hasn’t figured out how to contain the dynamic duo of Doncic and Kyrie Irving in the Western Conference Finals.

However, head coach Chris Finch is keeping it simple heading into Game 3 on Sunday in Dallas, as he has some sage advice for his two best players.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Finch wants Anthony Edwards to speed things up and Karl-Anthony Towns to slow things down.

“It’s been pretty simple,” Finch said. “Ant, you got to speed it up. KAT, you got to slow it down.”

Edwards has really struggled in this series to get going offensively, while Towns has continued to struggle on defense by committing costly fouls, which put him in foul trouble and usually put the opponent on the free-throw line.

If these two star players can figure out how to turn it around, especially on the road in Dallas, the Timberwolves might be able to get back in this series and keep their hopes alive to advance to the NBA Finals to face either the Indiana Pacers or Boston Celtics.

Game 3 will be crucial for Minnesota as this team will be in serious trouble if they go down 3-0 with another game in Dallas before the series shifts back to the Target Center.
