The Baltimore Ravens have had some tough injury luck at the running back position over the last few years.

Both J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, who are now with the Los Angeles Chargers coincidentally, dealt with a multitude of lower-body injuries during their time in Baltimore.

Another running back that is still with the team is second-year pro Keaton Mitchell, who tore his ACL late last year.

Head coach John Harbaugh has provided an update on Mitchell’s recovery.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Harbaugh told reporters that Mitchell is “on schedule” in his recovery but won’t be back until the regular season at some point.

The good news for the Ravens is that they already have a superstar running back in Derrick Henry.

He was signed by Baltimore to a two-year deal worth $16 million.

A four-time Pro-Bowler, Henry rushed for over 9,500 yards in eight years with the Titans.

By most accounts, he is arguably the best offensive player in franchise history.

The scary idea of trying to defend both Lamar Jackson and Henry just became real for the rest of the NFL.

Baltimore also has another veteran running back in sixth-year veteran Justice Hill.

Hill is coming off of a career year in a reserve role.

In 2023, he recorded 593 scrimmage yards and 4 total touchdowns.

Until Mitchell returns, it will be up to Henry and Hill to hold down the fort.

Again, it’s Derrick Henry so that won’t be a problem.

But depth will be an issue if one of those players goes down.
