The Jacksonville Jaguars have themselves a franchise quarterback in Trevor Lawrence.

Lawrence is due for a major contract extension soon.

There are some people who believe that Lawrence isn’t worth top-tier money.

Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf is not one of those people.

“He’s the leader of that football team…He is the guy…He deserves top-tier money,” Leaf recently said on Up & Adams.

The Jaguars, like Leaf is stating, would be smart to give Lawrence a major extension.

In this case, a major extension would be over $50 million per year.

The former national champion has become a Pro Bowl quarterback and taken the Jaguars to the playoffs.

Well, he didn’t just take them to the playoffs in 2022.

He led them to the third-largest comeback in NFL history after being down 27-0 to the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2022 Wildcard Round.

He is the right guy to be leading this franchise.

From day one, he has gotten better and better.

Head coach Doug Pederson and Lawrence are one of the better head coach-quarterback duos in the sport.

This team has had back-to-back winning seasons and is due for another quality year, even if the division and conference have both gotten tougher.

Despite missing the playoffs last year, Lawrence toughened out the year and played through injury.

His reward?

The team went out and added free agent receiver Gabe Davis from Buffalo and talented first-round receiver Brian Thomas Jr. out of LSU.
