Analyst Says NBA Dynasties Are ‘Over’

Analyst Says NBA Dynasties Are ‘Over’

For the fifth year in a row, we’re going to have a new NBA champion.

The Denver Nuggets couldn’t get back to the NBA Finals, and this puts into context just how difficult it is to repeat as NBA champions.

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors were the last to pull it off, and some might even say that they also had the last dynasty in the league, at least until further notice.

That’s how NBA analyst Alan Hahn thinks.

Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, Hahn claimed that the dynasties are officially a thing of the past, as owners want competitiveness and parity, so the new CBA is making it tougher for teams to build and keep their dynasties together.

He didn’t know whether that was good for the league or not, but that’s just the way things are going right now.

Well, that’s one way to look at it.

The Warriors won four rings with essentially three different championship cores: one with Harrison Barnes, two with Kevin Durant, and one with Andrew Wiggins, and an entirely different bench.

Also, it’s not like the Nuggets blew their roster up; they just lost Bruce Brown and were one win away from getting back to the Western Conference Finals.

Even so, perhaps this should make people give the Warriors and Curry their flowers for what they were able to accomplish in their latest run, as it’s one thing to just make it to the NBA Finals multiple times in a row, and a whole different thing to actually handle business and win the whole thing multiple times.
