There are only four teams left in the NBA playoffs, which means that for almost the entire league, the offseason has already begun.

A number of good teams, such as the New York Knicks, who fell in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals to the Indiana Pacers, are looking to make a move or two that will get them to the next level and make them legitimate championship contenders.

Several star players who could accomplish that for teams such as the Knicks could be on the move this offseason, which led Jason Timpf to say this could be an “absolutely wild summer” across the NBA, per The Volume.

The stars who could be available that Timpf and Colin Cowherd mentioned include Paul George, Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, Brandon Ingram, Mikal Bridges, and Lauri Markkanen.

None of them are true franchise players, and there may not be any true franchise players who will switch teams this summer, but any of the aforementioned players could significantly change the fortunes of several teams.

After about 20 years of meandering through the desert, the Knicks are finally firmly on the right track, but they have to decide whether Julius Randle is the right fit next to Jalen Brunson as their second star.

He has put up big numbers and made the All-Star team three times in the last four years, but he needs the ball in his hands to be effective, and his shot selection and decision-making can be questionable.

If New York decides to move on from him, someone such as Markkanen or Bridges could give them a seemingly complete puzzle for the first time since the mid-1990s.
