The Minnesota Timberwolves have been impressing a lot of people so far in the playoffs, and on Sunday, they pulled off their most impressive feat thus far by knocking off the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.

They did so with a withering defense that allowed them to overcome a 20-point deficit in the third quarter, and now they’re going to play for a spot in the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks in the next round.

On “The Pat McAfee Show,” Kendrick Perkins called out Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and praised him for getting his teammates to play up to their potential.

Edwards has been a rising star for the last few years, and this year, he has been getting recognition as a true superstar who is perhaps worthy of comparisons to Michael Jordan.

But it has always been said that true superstars make their teammates better, and Perkins pointed out that Edwards got Karl-Anthony Towns to up his level of play.

Towns is someone who has been criticized for being soft, most notably by former Timberwolves star Jimmy Butler, and although he was inconsistent in this series, he was big in Game 7.

He not only scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, but he also contained Nikola Jokic on the defensive end at key times in the series.

Edwards shot just 6-of-24 in Game 7, which makes the Timberwolves’ victory all the more impressive.

The sky now seems to be the limit for them, and the future is now for Minnesota, as they have a real shot at winning the NBA championship in the next month.
