For the first time since their inaugural season in 2003, the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun have sold out their home opener.
An opposing player might have a little something to do with it.
The Sun announced Monday no seats are left for Tuesday’s home kickoff against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever at the 8,910-seat Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
Clark already helped the Dallas Wings sell out their pre-season debut against the Fever earlier this month.
The Sun averaged 6,244 fans last year.
Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft, attracted huge crowds and television ratings throughout her final NCAA season at Iowa.
Her Hawkeyes lost in the NCAA final against South Carolina last month in Cleveland.
