With the NBA offseason officially underway for most of the league’s teams, rumors are starting to swirl about potential moves that could be made over the summer, from trades to signings in NBA free agency.
One big-name player who seems to be the most likely star to be moved over the course of the NBA offseason is point guard Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks, as it seems evident at this point that things aren’t working out with the struggling franchise with him at the helm.
The one team that seemed to be targeting Young was the Los Angeles Lakers, as they will aggressively try to bring in a third star to play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
However, Young recently parted ways with Klutch Sports in favor of CAA Sports, which may indicate that the Lakers bringing him in won’t be happening.
With the Lakers potentially out of the running for Young due to his new representation, the San Antonio Spurs appear to be another interested team, according to Evan Sidery of Forbes.
The Spurs, who are expected to show interest in Trae Young if made available this offseason, now have an extremely enticing package to potentially offer the Hawks.

The fatal flaw for the Spurs last season after drafting French superstar Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick was not bringing in a point guard to initiate the offense.
Although Young isn’t a traditional point guard, as he is more of a scorer, he would check that box for the Spurs and could be the ideal teammate alongside Wembanyama, which could make San Antonio a force to be reckoned with next season and over the years to come.
