The Pittsburgh Steelers have made themselves a possible playoff contender with some of the work that they have done this offseason.

According to FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd, Pittsburgh has a top-five roster in the NFL.

“I gotta see 11-12 wins this year. This is a very good roster. They had another excellent draft…To me, I look at rosters in the NFL. I have the Steelers on a short list of top five,” Cowherd recently said on “The Herd.”

With Mike Tomlin in need of a winning season to keep his great career going in Pittsburgh, this roster certainly looks good enough.

After adding multiple athletic quarterbacks in future Hall-of-Famer Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, the quarterback position is certainly filled.

They have a pair of 1,000-yard scrimmage backs in Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren.

In addition to having talented pass-catchers George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth, they added key skill players in running back Cordarrelle Patterson, receiver Van Jefferson, and rookie receiver Roman Wilson.

They already have a great defense.

That tends to happen when the likes of T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward, Patrick Queen, and Minkah Fitzpatrick are lining up across from opposing offenses.

This roster is way better than people think.

It is definitely good enough to make Pittsburgh a playoff team in 2024.

Like Cowherd said, if Pittsburgh can’t get to double-digit wins, there is a real problem in the Steel City.

But Tomlin has accomplished a lot in his time with the organization.

It would be hard to fathom him ending his time there on a sour note.
