Ever since he made it to the NBA, Anthony Edwards has drawn comparisons to Michael Jordan.
Not only are their games somewhat similar, but they actually look a lot like each other.
Nonetheless, as similar as they are, and even though he’s an old-school player with an old-school demeanor, it seems like the Minnesota Timberwolves star happens to be a big-time LeBron James fan.
That’s why he took to social media to call out those who criticize and make fun of James, stating that he had never seen so many people happy about a player’s struggles and being thankful for being one of the people who actually enjoy watching him play (via Courtside Buzz).
“I’ve never seen so many people be so happy to see an athlete fail more than LeBron. His whole career, he’s been hated on constantly and slandered to no end to the point where when he retires, nobody would have appreciated his greatness. I’m glad I will be one who did,” Edwards said.
Anthony Edwards had an incredible perspective on the amount of hate LeBron James receives:

Ironically, and even if it doesn’t make that much sense, that’s one of the reasons why James isn’t widely recognized as the greatest to ever do it.
Yes, even the best — especially the best — players have critics; that’s just what happens when you’re as famous as he is.
But it just felt like Jordan was universally beloved and respected — unless you were a Detroit Pistons fan.
Whatever the case, LeBron has done more than enough to be treated as one of the greatest athletes of all time, but unfortunately, that ship may have sailed already.
He’s not going to be out there for much longer, so those who have refused to enjoy his game won’t have many more opportunities to take their words back.
