The Miami Dolphins made some headlines on Friday when they signed veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year contract.

He could give them a somewhat reliable third option in their passing game, and he will join an offense that was already arguably the NFL’s best last season.

Beckham will also be reunited with star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who he played with on the Los Angeles Rams during the 2021 season, and that year, the two won the Super Bowl championship.

Ramsey took to Twitter to remind Beckham of the success they had together.

Not too long ago, Beckham was one of the game’s best wide receivers, not to mention one of the speediest wide receivers anyone could remember seeing.

As the No. 12 pick in the 2014 draft, he surpassed 90 catches and 1,300 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons, which were spent with the New York Giants.

But soon afterward, injuries started to slow him down.

He suffered two torn ACLs, the second of which occurred during that Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals, and since then, he has been merely a supporting player rather than an alpha wideout.

Last season, he caught 35 balls and posted 565 yards and three touchdowns as a member of the Baltimore Ravens while helping them finish with the best record in the NFL.

Miami was second in points and first in passing yards in 2023, but they didn’t have a true third option in their passing game alongside star wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
