UK-based pet food maker Pets Choice has agreed to buy the Vet’s Kitchen brand from local peer Pets’ Kitchen.
Pets Choice will be taking over the responsibility of sales from 1 June. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Much of the range sold under the Vet’s Kitchen brand is centred on dry dog and cat food but the line also includes treats, supplements and accessories.
Pets Choice’s portfolio includes the brands Webbox, Bob Martin, Felight, TastyBone and B-Calm.
In a statement, Lancashire-headquartered Pets Choice said it wanted to “grow its share of the premium and advanced nutrition sectors”.
The deal will allow Pets’ Kitchen “to concentrate on the development of their clinical veterinary practices under their Vet’s Klinic brand”, the statement added.
