The Miami Dolphins made some waves on Friday when they signed former Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal worth just over $8 million.
NFL insider Josina Anderson detailed on Twitter what led to Beckham signing with Miami.
“Throughout the process Dolphins players continued to reach out to OBJ to let him know he was wanted in Miami. Odell Beckham Jr. harvested a good kinship with head coach Mike McDaniel during his initial visit with the team in March…He’s worked tremendously hard to comeback from injury since winning a Super Bowl,” Anderson reported.

The Dolphins are getting a hungry, embattled, and veteran player that was once really great.
He joins a loaded cast of skill players that includes future Hall-of-Famer Tyreek Hill, 1,000-yard receiver Jaylen Waddle, Pro Bowl running back Raheem Mostert, and stud second-year back De’Von Achane.
The former All-Pro receiver will most likely be the No. 3 wide receiver in Miami’s offense.
The weight will fall on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to try and unlock the true potential of this offense.
This team is extremely talented, especially on offense.
That is not up for debate.
But this franchise hasn’t won a playoff game in almost a quarter-century.
They have made back-to-back playoff appearances but have yet to win an actual playoff game with Tagovailoa.
Perhaps the addition of Beckham will add another layer to this passing attack.
After all, the former Super Bowl champion knows how to separate from defenders better than most.
His addition will bring great joy to everyone around the organization.
