Miami Dolphins fans got some good news on Monday regarding the future of two of their better players.
According to the team site, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and edge-rusher Jaelan Phillips both got their fifth-year options exercised.
Both are good players, but fans should especially be excited to watch Waddle catch passes for at least another two seasons in South Florida.

The duo of Tyreek Hill and Waddle is one of the best receiver combos in the league.
Everyone knows how big of a threat Hill is when he touches the ball.
After all, the former Super Bowl champion is a member of the league’s 2010s All-Decade Team.
But Waddle is a stud in his own right.
The former Alabama star has started his NFL career with three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.
He led the NFL in 2022 in average yards per reception (18.1) and has over 250 career catches so far.
His 4.3 speed is game-changing, and it allows the Dolphins to have multiple players who can stretch the field while stressing the defense.
Moving forward, head coach Mike McDaniel is going to still have some real speedsters and dangerous ballers at his disposal.
In addition to having Hill and Waddle out wide, running back Raheem Mostert is coming off of his first career Pro Bowl season after leading the league in rushing touchdowns (18)
Additionally, rookie running back De’Von Achane, before suffering a knee injury in October of last season, recorded three 100-yard rushing games within the first five weeks.
Miami has a lot of power on offense and keeping Waddle around was just one piece of the puzzle.
