The Washington Commanders need a quarterback.

Fortunately for them, they happen to have the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and there will be plenty of options to choose from there.

Notably, Jayden Daniels has been the clear-cut favorite to be the second guy off the board come Thursday night, and that sentiment has only grown stronger as we approach the big event.

As pointed out by ESPN Bet on Twitter, Daniels’ odds of going No. 2 overall continue to move, going from -700 to -1000.

For those who aren’t familiar with this, it means that one would have to place a $1000 wager on Daniels being the No. 2 selection to win $100.

If that doesn’t seem lucrative or intelligent, that’s because it isn’t.

Simply put, oddsmakers are giving it as a fact that Daniels is going to be the Commanders’ guy, and they’re usually right.

There was some buzz about Daniels not wanting to play for the Commanders and him liking the Las Vegas Raiders or Minnesota Vikings better, but he and his camp were quick to dismiss that narrative.

And as much as some still think that Drake Maye would be a better pick for Dan Quinn’s team, it just doesn’t seem like the Commanders feel that way right now.

Of course, we’ve seen crazier things happen, and the NFL Draft always sets the table for some major surprises.

But barring a shocking turn of events at the eleventh hour, all signs point towards the LSU star taking his talents to the nation’s capital.
