Alabama edge-rusher Chris Braswell is one of the handful players from Tuscaloosa expected to go in the first few rounds of the NFL Draft.

The 2023 Second-Team All-SEC performer was one of the best pass-rushers in America in 2023 (8.0 sacks).

NFL analyst Greg Cosell was on the Ross Tucker Podcast to chat about many things regarding the draft, including which NFL player is most comparable to Braswell.

“His (Braswell) game is built on power…Braswell reminded me of Matt Judon coming out of college. I could see Braswell’s career following that course,” Cosell said Thursday.

Getting compared to Matthew Judon on the edge isn’t too shabby of a start for any young pass-rusher.

Judon, when healthy, is one of the best defenders in the league.

Before last season, he made four consecutive Pro Bowls from 2019 to 2022.

He was particularly dominant in 2021 and 2022 with his sack numbers.

He got the quarterback on the ground a total of 28 times over those two seasons, including 15.5 times in 2022.

After tearing his lower bicep after just four games, his 2023 season was cut short.

New Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo will look to him to be a leader this year for the rebuilding franchise.

Going back to Braswell, if he can develop into an every-down pass-rusher like Judon did, especially with his experience learning from Nick Saban, he should have a fantastic career.

Again, Cosell notes that Judon was a small-college guy and wasn’t drafted until the fifth round by the Ravens.

Braswell is seemingly off to a better start than Judon was back in 2016.
