The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics don’t like each other.

This rivalry dates back to the Paul Pierce – LeBron James era, and it has only gotten worse since both left.

Erik Spoelstra’s team has usually gotten the best of the Celtics, regardless of their playoff seeding, their record, or who’s on the court.

This time, however, the Celtics might have a huge edge over their most-hated rivals in the Eastern Conference.

That’s why the Celtics’ Oshae Brissett didn’t hesitate to stir the pot ahead of Game 1 of their first-round matchup.

As shown by Adam Taylor on Twitter, Brissett called out Heat fans for chanting “We want Celtics” during their Play-In Tournament win over the Chicago Bulls, stating that they would continue their conversation after the first round.

The Celtics have the most stacked and talented team in the entire league right now, and they had the best record in the Association by a considerable margin.

On top of that, the Heat will be without Jimmy Butler, who’s been diagnosed with an MCL injury, and Terry Rozier could also miss some time.

Then again, Spoelstra is one of the best coaches in the game, and the Heat have shown to be a completely different team as soon as the postseason hits, so the Celtics cannot afford to overlook them by any means, and they need to make sure to make a statement early and often in this series.

The Celtics are championship contenders, and anything short of a trip to the NBA Finals should be considered a failure.
