The end of the 2023-24 NBA regular season is upon us, with teams wrapping up their schedules on Sunday and most of the playoff picture in both the Eastern and Western Conference coming together.
On Sunday, the Cleveland Cavaliers finished their regular season in a matchup against the Charlotte Hornets.
Charlotte’s season came to an end a long time ago, and it has long since been eliminated from playoff contention in the East.
That said, the Hornets didn’t have much to play for on Sunday, but that didn’t prevent them from beating one of the best teams in the East to end their 2023-24 campaign.
The Cavaliers, however, could’ve improved their seeding in the East with a win over a team that should’ve been easy to beat on Sunday in Cleveland.
Despite that being the case, it appears the Cavaliers were more than content with locking up the No. 4 seed in the East, which will result in them playing the Orlando Magic in the first round.

Here are some fan reactions to the Cavaliers basically throwing in the towel against the Hornets on Sunday:

Real question why play the starters at all if you’re gonna tank the game and lose? I hope JB is gone next year.

Although the Cavaliers have a decent chance of beating the upstart Magic in the first round, fans of the franchise were not happy with the team conceding on Sunday.
Despite winning 48 games this season, Cleveland has struggled as of late, which has led many to question whether this team can be a force to be reckoned with in the NBA playoffs or if it could be more of the same in comparison to last season.
