Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa enjoyed his best season as a professional in 2023, finishing first in the NFL in passing yards while earning his first Pro Bowl nod.

After his momentous season, the Dolphins exercised the club’s option for a fifth year, raising Tagovailoa’s salary from $9.63 million in 2023 to a fully guaranteed $23.17 million in 2024.

Without a contract extension in hand, questions have swirled this offseason around Tagovailoa’s status for preseason workouts and a potential contract holdout.

Tagovailoa is putting those questions to rest.

Pro Football Network reporter Adam Beasley relayed the message in his recent Twitter post, adding that the quarterback said he would not be a holdout despite playing on the final year of his current pact.

Beasley added that Tagovailoa also plans to attend the voluntary practices (OTAs) each team holds every spring, signaling the quarterback’s desire to return to the field this year.

Ending the holdout talk allows Miami to continue building off their 11-6 regular season in 2023.

Miami’s offense took leaps forward last year, finishing atop the league with 401.3 yards per game and second in the league 29.2 points per game.

Tagovailoa piloted the highest-scoring offensive output in years, leading the Dolphins to a 70-20 win over the Denver Broncos last season.

That offensive explosion marked only the third time in NFL history that a team scored 70 or more points in a game.

Tagovailoa started 17 games for the Dolphins last season, the first time in his career he played a full NFL season.
