Tomas Hertl will likely make his debut with the Vegas Golden Knights for Monday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks, according to head coach Bruce Cassidy.

Hertl underwent knee surgery back in February, while he was still with the San Jose Sharks, and has not played a game since Jan. 27.

The 30-year-old forward was acquired by the Golden Knights at the NHL Trade Deadline on March 8.

“Hertl’s travelling (and) will probably play tomorrow,” Cassidy told reporters. “Will probably finalize that tomorrow.”

Prior to his injury, Hertl recorded 15 goals and 19 assists for a total of 34 points in 48 games with the Sharks this season.

The Czech spent 11 seasons in San Jose and is currently in the second year of an eight-year, $65.1 million contract he signed with the team.

Cassidy also provided updates on a slew of other Golden Knights players, including goaltender Adin Hill.

Hill, 27, has not played since March 27 due to a lower-body injury.

“Hill is back with the group,” said Cassidy. “Won’t be available tomorrow, obviously, but he’s gonna travel with us.”

Vegas currently occupies the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
