New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Khalen Saunders is apparently contemplating a move that could puzzle fans.
Saunders, a defender who is listed at 324 pounds, suggested when he retires from the NFL, a new football chapter in his story would include a position switch as well.
In a post on Twitter, Saunders told fans he would consider playing in the UFL at a completely different position.
“When I’m done in the NFL I’m going to the UFL and playing full time RB,” he tweeted.

Saunders – who has not played as a running back in any of his 55 professional games – joined the NFL in 2019 as a third-round selection of the Kansas City Chiefs.
The United Football League (UFL) is a spring football league that started its inaugural season last week to significant fanfare.
In September 2023, the XFL and USFL merged the two leagues to form the UFL and its eight-team current makeup.
The UFL will have games televised on both FOX and ESPN this season, an advantage other spring football leagues have not enjoyed.
A debut at running back for Saunders isn’t in the plans anytime soon, however.
In 2023, Saunders signed with New Orleans on a three-year, $12.3 million contract that ranked among the top 30 for defensive tackles at the time.
Saunders played in all 17 games for the Saints this past season, posting his best performance with 57 tackles.
