New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto is a difference-maker.
It doesn’t take a whole lot of baseball knowledge to realize he can positively impact a game in many different ways.
He has shown as much in the first weekend of the 2024 season with his new team, winning games with his arm, his ability to hit singles, his patience, and his power.
There is a reason why he has already turned down a $440 million contract extension offer: he is so good that he might approach or surpass the $500 million threshold when he becomes a free agent after the World Series.
If you think his start of the 2024 campaign is impressive, wait until you hear what he has done between these four games against the Houston Astros and the end of his stint with the San Diego Padres last season.
“Juan Soto has reached base safely in a career-high 37 straight games dating to last season, the longest active streak in MLB In that span: .368 BA, .482 OBP, .692 SLG, 12 HR, 37 RBI,” MLB stats expert Sarah Langs tweeted.

There are many things standing out in that tweet.
First, the fact he has reached base in 37 straight games is as impressive as you will find.
That batting average is also amazing: .368.
Soto has a career .286 average, so he is a strong, capable hitter with underrated contact.
However, to see him hitting .368 over a 37-game span is nothing short of amazing.
The sky is the limit for Soto, who is still younger than some of the top prospects in the game at 25 years old.
Oh, and he already has 161 career home runs and a World Series title, not to mention the potential to sign one of the priciest contracts in baseball history just a few months from now.
