After a disastrous 2023 NFL season, in which the New York Jets failed to live up to expectations, mainly due to superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffering a season-ending Achilles injury right out of the gate, the franchise seems determined to right the ship during this NFL offseason.
On Friday, the team made an unexpected move by agreeing to a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire linebacker Haason Reddick, which may drastically improve the Jets defensively next season.
Along with adding Reddick into the mix to bolster the defensive side of the football, the Jets have addressed the offensive side during the offseason as well, with the team recently bringing in veteran wide receiver Mike Williams and five-time All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys.
It seems as though the Jets brass is motivated to ensure that this team is a legitimate title contender during the 2024 campaign, and they are off to a good start.
ESPN’s Mike Greenberg has been impressed with the moves the Jets have made so far this offseason, with the team clearly going all in for the 2024 campaign.
“The #Jets have handled this off season exactly right. Act as if nothing after 2024 exists because for them it very well may not. Also, this defense is gonna be a problem,” he tweeted.

Although the Jets are making all the right moves right now, it remains to be seen what the end product looks like on the football field come Week 1, as there’s no telling whether Rodgers will be the same player after the Achilles injury.
However, there seems to be some optimism in New York moving forward after such a disappointing 2023 campaign, which went off the rails immediately.
