LSU quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels was on full display at LSU’s Pro Day today as he looked to solidify himself as a top-3 pick in this April’s NFL Draft.
It has been tough to project the top of this draft due to so many moving parts with many teams needing quarterbacks and so many QBs moving up the mock draft boards, but one former QB believes the best spot for Daniels is at No. 2.
Chase Daniel went on The 33rd Team show and said that the Commanders would be a great landing spot for Daniels, saying, “he takes too many hits…but I do like the fit with Washington.”

Daniel noted that the Commanders have had a nice offseason not only in terms of their free agent signings but namely with the coaching staff with the hiring of head coach Dan Quinn and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.
Daniel loves the idea of Daniels working with Kingsbury in particular and notes that Daniels might be able to do more than Kyler Murray did with Kingsbury in Arizona since Daniels has a bit more ability as a pocket passer, as well as being much bigger than Murray.
“He probably has the most experience of going through progressions and understanding offenses other than Bo Nix,” said Daniel.
According to Spotrac, Washington still has around $46 million in cap space even after making significant upgrades on both sides of the ball.
Sam Howell ate 65 sacks behind this offensive line last year, so Washington went out and landed Tyler Biadasz at center and Nick Allegretti at guard to make life easier for their next QB.
Could that next guy be Daniels?
