The Los Angeles Rams had some unexpected success last season, and despite the retirement of sure-fire Hall of Fame defensive tackle Aaron Donald, they could be poised to build on that success this fall.

But they do need help in the secondary, especially since they ranked 20th in passing yards allowed and 22nd in passing touchdowns given up in 2023.

On Tuesday, Adam Schefter reported that Tre’Davious White, formerly of the Buffalo Bills, plans on signing a one-year deal with the Rams.

White is a two-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro First-Team selection, and he has played each of his seven NFL seasons with the Bills.

But since his last Pro Bowl campaign in 2020, he has had trouble staying healthy, and as a result, his production has greatly dropped.

He tore his ACL during the 2021 campaign, and in Week 4 of last season, he tore his Achilles tendon.

Still, if he manages to shake off the injury bug, he could contribute in a big way to a Rams team that has managed to retool on the fly after a very poor Super Bowl title defense in 2022.

At that time, it looked like they were getting old and stale, but wide receiver Puka Nacua and nose tackle Kobie Turner, both of whom were rookies in 2023, have greatly refreshed them.

They have apparently also found an additional stud on offense in running back Kyren Williams, who had 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground last season while making the Pro Bowl.

Perhaps the Rams’ overall performance in 2024 will rest on quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is 36 years of age and has missed a combined 10 games over the last two seasons.
