During his seven years in the NFL, cornerback Malcolm Butler accomplished a few things that will forever be remembered by New England Patriots fans, as he pulled off one of the biggest plays in Super Bowl history with a goal-line interception against the Seattle Seahawks to seal the deal for Tom Brady and company.
Unfortunately for Butler, the next time he made it to the Super Bowl with the Patriots, he was benched by legendary head coach Bill Belichick for reasons that still remain a mystery to this day.
Ultimately, Butler left the Patriots in 2018 and had some success with the Tennessee Titans, with whom he spent the last three years of his professional career.
Since playing his last snap in the NFL with the Titans in 2020, Butler hasn’t been seen much in the public eye.
Unfortunately, Butler’s next headline is a forgettable one as the was arrested in Rhode Island for driving under the influence, according to TMZ Sports via JPAFootball.
“Cops say a strong odor of alcohol emitted from his breath. They also say his speech was ‘extremely slurred’ and he had ‘severely bloodshot watery eyes.’ Cops wrote in docs he was ‘sweating profusely in the face’ as well,” JPAFootball tweeted with quotes from the report.

Obviously, this is the last thing anyone wants to see from a Super Bowl hero, as he may be struggling with life after football, as many professional athletes tend to do.
During the 100 games he played in the NFL with the Patriots and Titans, Butler racked up 17 interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.
