Recently, NBA insider Brian Windhorst fueled a fierce debate on social media.
He stated that Allen Iverson wouldn’t be able to put up the kind of numbers he put up in today’s era, arguing that he wasn’t an efficient scorer.
However, the former Philadelphia 76ers star didn’t clap back at his comments.
Instead, he took the high road and claimed that it was just Windhorst’s opinion.
With that in mind, former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas shared a similar thought.

Talking to Shannon Sharpe on his Nightcap show, Arenas claimed that the whole debate was pointless because it was based solely on what-ifs and hypotheticals.
He also thinks that great players find a way to be great regardless of the era, adding that Iverson was a very skilled player.
That’s pretty much where the debate ends.
Iverson played in the transition from one of the most physical eras in NBA history to a more fast-paced game, and he thrived in both.
On top of that, most of the elite scorers of that era weren’t as efficient as they are nowadays; that was a byproduct of the rules, the scheming, and the way defense was played back then.
Great players are obsessed with their craft, and they always find a way to maximize their game and impact.
