When Kirk Cousins signed with the Atlanta Falcons, it was the end of an era for the Minnesota Vikings.
Fans thought there was a chance that he would re-sign with the team, but that was not the case.
Now, the Vikings are left to look for their next quarterback, someone to keep their momentum moving forward, especially since Justin Jefferson is on the roster.
They did sign Sam Darnold to a one-year deal, but this might not be their only move.
As Jonathan Jones has recently reported, the Vikings made a deal with the Houston Texans to acquire the No. 23 and No. 232 overall picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
This now gives the Vikings two first-round picks, which, as Jones indicates, gives them an opportunity to move up in the draft for a quarterback.
The Vikings have been rumored for weeks to be a team that could trade up in the draft. Now they’re armed with picks No. 11 and 23, with Sam Darnold only on a one-year deal. https://t.co/rgBWY8THP2

They are in search of their Cousins replacement, and they now have a chance to make that happen.
If they can move up to pick three or four, they will have a few opportunities to select a top prospect in this year’s loaded class.
If they do not move up, they might still be able to draft a QB, but it might be their third, fourth, or fifth option.
It will be interesting to see what the Vikings decide to do, especially now that they have more picks to make a blockbuster trade happen.
The NFL has seen some wild trades near draft night, but it remains to be seen when the Vikings will make this move, assuming this is the direction they decide to go.
