The NFL’s free agency period has been a frenzy.

Teams across the league have worked diligently to add players they believe can help their roster significantly for the 2024 season and beyond, creating a wild couple of days.

While this has been fun for fans, there have been points of frustration for teams that have extended offers to players only to see them sign with another team.

The New England Patriots were one of those teams, missing out on Calvin Ridley.

It was evident that the Patriots were looking to sign the veteran wide receiver, who ended up going to the Tennessee Titans.

While some suggested that they would pivot and only target the position in the draft, Patriots reporter Mark Daniels presented an alternative viewpoint.

Daniels indicated that the team is still interested in adding a free-agent receiver, especially given some of the names that are still available.

He suggested eight names, including Mike Williams, who was recently released from the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Patriots are believed to take a quarterback with their No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

If that is the case, the front office likely already has that player in mind, which could help make their free-agent decisions a bit easier.

Knowing what quarterback they are targeting can help them figure out which free agent they would like to sign the most, hoping to find someone who can match that quarterback’s energy and play style.

Since the Patriots haven’t found great success in the wake of Tom Brady’s departure, it will be interesting to see how the 2024 season shakes out.
