On Monday, it was revealed that the New York Yankees sent their ace Gerrit Cole for an MRI on his right elbow.

The results are not yet public, but fans have started to lose their mind over the possibility of losing their best pitcher (and reigning Cy Young winner) for an extended period of time.

Tuesday started with injury-related news, but not from Cole.

Aaron Judge, the team captain and the most prominent player on the team, revealed he also suffered an injury recently and, like Cole, was sent for an MRI.

The player himself explained the situation, but he will apparently be fine for the start of the season or shortly after that.

“Aaron Judge underwent an MRI on Monday after reporting discomfort in his abdominal section and expects to resume swinging a bat later in the week. The Yankees outfielder said his goal is to be ready for Opening Day. ‘We ran tests and everything came back good,’ Judge said. ‘It’s just what I told them, I was a little banged up and needed a couple of days. Hopefully we’ll get back out there soon,’” Yankees insider Bryan Hoch tweeted.

Losing Cole would be a huge blow.

Losing Cole and Judge would virtually mean the 2024 Yankees are doomed.

Cole is not out of the woods yet because the MRI is what will determine the extent of his injury and his recovery time.

It could be a week, or it could be a year-and-a-half.

Judge, on the other hand, already knows his tests came back clean and it’s a matter of resting for a couple of days and ramping up in time to open the season on the roster.

He should be fine in the long run.
