Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry is set to miss at least two games after suffering an ankle injury in Friday’s game against the Chicago Bulls, the team announced Saturday.
Curry, 35, came up hobbling near the end of the game against the Bulls and immediately went to the team’s locker room and did not return.
The statement from the team said that he underwent an MRI on Saturday and that it revealed no structural damage to the guard’s ankle. It was confirmed that he suffered a sprained ankle.
Curry has been listed as out for Saturday’s game against the Spurs and will also miss Monday’s game, the second of a home-and-home series as the Warriors visit San Antonio.
He will be re-evaluated on Tuesday.
The 10-time All-Star has been the engine guiding the Warriors this season, averaging 26.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game while shooting 40.7 per cent from deep.
Golden State is in 10th place in the crowded Western Conference with a 33-29 record.
