Russell Wilson is about to be released by the Denver Broncos after they suffered through two excruciating seasons with him.

They traded for the future Hall of Fame quarterback two years ago, but they won a total of just 13 games since and haven’t made the playoffs since the 2015 campaign.

Pundits are already speculating on where the best destination would be for the 35-year-old Wilson, and Bucky Brooks said on “NFL Total Access” that the Pittsburgh Steelers would be the destination that could help ensure he ends up receiving one of those gold jackets the Pro Football Hall of Fame gives to its inductees.

Brooks pointed out the outstanding job Mike Tomlin has done since taking over as the Steelers’ head coach in 2007, as he has never had a losing season with them.

It has become clear that Kenny Pickett, whom the Steelers drafted two years ago, just won’t cut it under center, yet they were able to finish 10-7 and drag themselves to the playoffs in 2023.

Pittsburgh was a strong defensive team, finishing sixth in points allowed, and while their offensive line has holes, it does do a good job of run blocking, which could play into Wilson’s hands.

True to their tradition, they love to run the football, and Diontae Johnson and George Pickens would give Wilson a decent wide receiver tandem to throw the football to.

Wilson is going to be sought after by a number of teams, especially since he has a Super Bowl championship to his name, and he could make a big difference for one lucky franchise in 2024.
