The New England Patriots had great plans to build their wide receiver room to best support Mac Jones’s journey to becoming a franchise quarterback.

They signed several young and veteran players to their roster to make this happen, including Kendrick Bourne.

Bourne played for the Patriots for two seasons and was ready to put together a massive campaign in 2023

However, he tore his ACL during the 2023 season, putting a damper on his hopes in Year 3 with the Patriots.

Now, he is a free agent, hoping that either the Patriots or another team sign him in the offseason.

One of the biggest questions surrounding Bourne is his health and whether teams think he can stay on the field next year.

Bourne seems confident in his abilities and his health, at least according to his comments in a recent segment on the NFL Network.

“My plan is to play game 1, and I believe I’m going to be ready,” Bourne said.

Bourne indicated that he is getting the go-ahead from doctors, which could bode well for his future in the NFL.

He is 28 years old and will be 29 when the season starts.

Bourne likely only has a few more years of NFL production left in him, assuming a team will sign him to a contract of any length.

It will be interesting to see what team he ends up on.

Even though he doesn’t light up the stat sheet, having a player with Bourne’s career experience might be a desirable quality in a potential suitor.
