The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is now over, and all 32 teams got a chance to look at this year’s draft class in a close and personal way in Indianapolis.

While talent and skill are important, there are plenty of those qualities in the players who have declared for the draft, and therefore character is arguably even more important.

There were some head coaches who didn’t attend the combine, but Andy Reid of the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs said he makes it a point to attend in order to get a read on the personalities and mental qualities of prospects, per The Volume.

“The interviews, to sit in front of a guy and talk to him and see how they react to you, the questions, the coaches asking the questions, that’s what I get out of this,” Reid said.

This year’s draft class is stacked at the quarterback and wide receiver spots, and although the Chiefs have won the Vince Lombardi Trophy in three of the last five seasons, they still need some help at wideout.

They got by in 2023 with a cast of young and unproven wide receivers, and snagging a future star in the draft would go a long way in ensuring more success in the years to come.

The best wideout currently on Kansas City’s roster appears to be Rashee Rice, who had 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie in 2023.

In addition, star tight end Travis Kelce is 34 years of age and getting closer to retirement, so it would make sense for them to lessen his load during the regular season in order to keep him fresh for the playoffs.

As of now, the Chiefs have six draft picks, including the No. 32 selection in the first round.
