After missing the postseason, the Seattle Seahawks made a dramatic change as they parted ways with long-time head coach Pete Carroll.

However, the Seahawks didn’t waste much time finding his replacement as they settled on Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald to become the team’s new head coach.

Macdonald was a highly-touted candidate during the hiring cycle and now gets his own team to build out and hopefully compete in a rising NFC West.

Macdonald’s expertise may be on the defensive end, but he’s also got several weapons to work with offensively.

Geno Smith will be back under center with receiving options like D.K. Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to lean on.

Noah Fant, on the other hand, could be on his way out as he seems to be waiting to see what happens with his future via his personal Twitter account.

“Patiently waiting,” Fant tweeted.

Fant played the 2023 NFL season on the last year of his rookie deal and could be headed elsewhere as Seattle figures out how it wants to mold the roster.

The tight end was originally a throw-in in the blockbuster deal that sent Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.

A former first-round pick, Fant hasn’t lived up to his pedigree though he’s still a solid receiving and blocking tight end.

While he might not be back with Seattle for the 2024 campaign, he could help several teams given the lack of impactful tight ends across the league.

A team could do worse than taking a flier on someone like Fant who’s still only 26 years old.
