Donte DiVincenzo played on an NBA championship team three seasons ago as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, but it came with a heartbreaking caveat.
He sustained a serious ankle injury in the first round of the playoffs, and he could only sit and watch as his Bucks won it all that summer.
He admitted that having to watch that triumph from the bench after starting every game he had played to that point was a “tough pill to swallow,” per Playmaker via Legion Hoops.
Donte Divincenzo:
“That was a tough pill to swallow, starting every game that season and then sitting back and watching your team win an NBA championship.”

In the regular season that year, DiVincenzo averaged 10.4 points a game and made 37.9 percent of his 3-point attempts in 66 regular season games.
Despite being injured for most of the Bucks’ 2021 playoff run, he still got his championship ring, and it’s something no one can ever take away from him.
The following season, he was traded to the Sacramento Kings, and last year, he was a member of the Golden State Warriors.
This season, DiVincenzo is with the New York Knicks, and he has been more lethal than ever.
He’s shooting a career-high 41.6 percent from downtown on 7.6 3-point attempts per game, and he’s third in the NBA in total made treys this season behind only Luka Doncic and Stephen Curry.
He’s one reason why the Knicks are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference and are considered a threat to go deep in this spring’s playoffs.
The Knicks may not win the NBA title this season, but DiVincenzo is once again a regular starter on a very good team.
