The Los Angeles Dodgers have made plenty of noise this offseason.
No team has signed more key players or spent more money than the Dodgers.
But, if you ask them, it is all worth it.
The Dodgers signed Shohei Ohtani to a 10-year, $700 million contract.
That is the largest contract in sports history and Ohtani is worth it.
He will not be able to pitch in 2024 due to his recovering from elbow surgery.
But, he will still be able to DH full-time.
Our first look at Ohtani in spring training came on Tuesday.
As noted by Bob Nightengale, Ohtani made his Dodgers debut at DH batting second.

Ohtani ended up striking out in his first at-bat.
But, he got revenge in this third at-bat when he launched a two-run homer to left field.

All of the hype around Ohtani is warranted.
He is one of the best power hitters in baseball and should be in for a career year.
The Dodgers have come up flat in the postseason the past few years.
In each of the past two seasons, they lost in the NLDS.
The addition of Ohtani makes them the favorites to win the World Series and also puts more pressure on them.
The top of the Dodgers lineup features three former MVP winners.
Mookie Betts, Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman are how the Dodgers lined up for this spring training game.
Also, the Dodgers greatly improved their starting pitching this offseason.
This team has everything you look for in a World Series champion.
Now is the time for them to prove it on the field.
