The last two seasons with the Denver Broncos haven’t exactly gone well for veteran quarterback Russell Wilson.
In 2022, the Broncos and Wilson fell short of their large preseason expectations and finished with a disappointing 5-12 record.
This led to Denver hiring Sean Payton as their new head coach in 2023, and the Broncos were able to improve slightly this past season, finishing with an 8-9 record, but Wilson still struggled under center.
Denver is expected to move on from Wilson at some point this offseason, so there has been plenty of speculation about where he might end up.
During a recent interview with the “I AM ATHLETE” podcast, Wilson had the following to say about his future in the NFL (via I AM ATHLETE on Twitter).
“I hope it’s in Denver. I hope I get to finish there. I committed there. I wanted to be there. I want to be there.”

Wilson also mentioned how he wants to be with a team that wants him as well, so he knows that might not be with the Broncos, as they’ve made it pretty clear in the last few months that they would like someone else to be their starting quarterback.
Luckily for Wilson, if he doesn’t stay in Denver, there are always teams around the NFL that are looking for a new starting signal-caller each offseason.
The veteran passer could wind up in a number of different places around the league this year, including with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, or Atlanta Falcons.
Will the Broncos change their mind this offseason and stick with Wilson for another year, or will they follow through with their plans to move on?
