The 2023 season was a difficult one for the players and fans of the New York Jets, as the team fell well short of the massive goals they set heading into the campaign.
Of course, the Jets assumed they were going to have quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the field for more than a few plays, but he suffered a torn Achilles in the team’s opening matchup of 2023, and he never played another snap during the season.
For the 2024 season, Rodgers is expected to be fully recovered from his injury, which should allow New York to actually reach some of the high goals they were hoping to accomplish last year.
If it were up to Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner, he would like Justin Jefferson to be in a New York uniform catching passes from Rodgers next season.
At least, that’s what Gardner made it seem like from his response on Twitter to a post about the Minnesota Vikings possibly trading Jefferson this year.

Adding Jefferson to their offense would be huge for the Jets, but is it realistic?
The Vikings are still hoping to lock down Jefferson for multiple years this offseason with a contract extension, and any talk of them possibly trading him has most been purely based on speculation.
So, while it might fire up Gardner and New York’s fans to think about adding the All-Pro wide receiver to their roster this year, a lot of things would have to change between now and the start of the 2024 season.
This isn’t to say it’s impossible, but the chances of Jefferson winding up with the Jets this year are definitely low.
