In today’s NFL, Patrick Mahomes reigns as the best player in football after he led the Kansas City Chiefs to a third Super Bowl championship since he took over as the team’s starting quarterback.

Mahomes was named Super Bowl LVIII MVP, marking his third time winning the award and stamping his name in the GOAT conversation.

The Chiefs are going to be perennial contenders as long as Mahomes is under center and healthy, a scary proposition for the rest of the league.

However, Mahomes has his fair share of detractors who would like to remind everyone that other great quarterbacks have come before him.

Mahomes was raised in Texas, a state known for churning out football talent at every level of the game.

Johnny Manziel was one of those players and he believes that Kyler Murray is the best Texas high school football player to ever play via, “Club Shay Shay.”

“If you know anything about Texas High School football, I would say (Kyler Murray’s) resume and what he did makes him hands down the best Texas high school football player to ever play,” Manziel said, per the podcast.

Murray attended Allen High School and led them to three straight state championships, including a perfect 42-0 record as the starting quarterback.

Murray hasn’t achieved the same sort of success in the NFL, but his high school career is the stuff that legends are known for.

While Mahomes may not have the same high school resume as Murray, his professional career speaks volumes and that’s what people will remember him for.
