Since the Cincinnati Bengals drafted Joe Burrow first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, the team has been considered a rising power in the AFC.
The Bengals have already made several AFC Championship Game appearances and one Super Bowl since Burrow took over as the franchise’s starting quarterback.
However, Burrow has been hampered by several injuries that have cut his seasons short.
For example, Burrow suffered a wrist injury that forced him to miss the remainder of the 2023 NFL season and cost Cincinnati a chance to make the postseason.
Keeping Burrow healthy has been the organization’s biggest hurdle toward success, though they’re hoping that things are different in 2024.
During the offseason, the Bengals had some fun with an old tweet from Burrow where he joked about retiring, via the team’s official Twitter account.

During the draft process, one of the knocks on Burrow were his small hands as teams generally prefer quarterbacks with bigger ones.
Things like gripping and holding onto the football are easier for players with bigger hands, but Burrow seemed to take the criticism in stride given his response.
Fortunately for him and the Bengals, his hand measurements haven’t given him any problems when it comes to throwing the football.
At his best, Burrow is one of the best and purest throwing quarterbacks in the league because of his ability to move it downfield and layer passes over defenders.
Assuming he comes back fully healthy, Burrow and the Cincinnati offense will be a handful for every other team.
